Bangor International Airport
Bangor International Airport, a civil and military public airport, is located west of Bangor in Maine, United States. Formerly known by the names Dow Air Force Base or Bangor Army Air Field it is now home to the 101st Air Refueling Wing, part of the Maine Air National Guard. The base is used by domestic and foreign flights.
The airport is a single terminal that offers passengers a wide range of services. A free Wi-Fi is available, and there are several shops and restaurants. The airport lounges are also available for passengers to relax in.
Bangor International Airport offers a wide range of cars for all budgets. The cheapest rental cars are available for as little as $16-30 a day. Return the car to the same location as you picked it up. The counter can be found in the terminal near baggage claim. Broadway
The Broadway Historical District is one the most prestigious areas in Bangor. This area features many historical homes built during the 1800s. The National Register of Historic Places lists this neighborhood as a reflection of Bangor’s lumberbarons and business elites of that time. Many of its houses have been well preserved, such as the Dwinel McCrillis House. This Doric duplex is an excellent example of this style. This unique duplex features sash, bay and intricate frieze windows on the second level. Rufus Dwinel occupied the home, a prominent businessman. Jones Veazie lived in the house later.
First Methodist Episcopal Church, also in the area. The Greek Revival style church was built by Harvey Graves in 1837. Harvey Graves also designed two other 19th-century churches in the region. Its brick structure makes it a unique building in the area.
Union Street
Union Street, in Bangor’s vibrant community, is home to sidewalk cafés, art galleries and cozy bistros. It is also a walkers paradise with easy accessibility to mountains and rivers for hiking and skiing.
The Union Street Greenway is a stairway that winds from a baseball diamond on the edge the city to Dennison Street. It crosses open field and a court of basketball before ending up at Union Street, near the highway.
